Doug Hayes brings together nearly a decade of investigative experience, specialized public safety background expertise, and more than 30 years of executive leadership in the medical technology industry. A licensed Private Investigator in California since 2020, Doug has experience conducting public safety background investigations, surveillance, skip tracing, and witness interviews. He is also a P.O.S.T.-Accredited Public Safety Background Investigator.

Before joining G2 Public Safety Backgrounds, Doug held senior leadership positions in healthcare technology, where he led regional and national sales organizations and developed long-standing relationships with healthcare executives and organizational leaders across the country. This experience has shaped his approach to leadership, with a strong emphasis on integrity, professionalism, strategic growth, operational excellence, and responsive client service.

As President, Doug is focused on building upon G2’s established reputation for quality and reliability while continuing to strengthen its people, processes, and client relationships. He is particularly committed to maintaining the rigorous standards that public safety agencies expect when selecting a background investigation partner.

Doug is supported by a highly experienced team of background professionals and investigators, many of whom bring prior law enforcement experience. Steven founded Guardian PSBI, operating now as G2 Public Safety Backgrounds, and brings more than 40 years of investigative experience to the organization. A licensed Private Investigator since 1986, Steven also served six years with the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office as a Class 1 Reserve, gaining experience in Patrol, Corrections, Investigations, and Search and Rescue.

Since 2007, Steven has specialized in public safety background investigations. He completed the P.O.S.T. background investigation training through the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office at that time and has conducted background investigations for law enforcement and civilian personnel throughout California for nearly two decades.

As Founder, and now Advisor, Steven continues to provide guidance to G2 and remains an important resource to the organization. His extensive investigative experience, knowledge of public safety background practices, and understanding of G2’s history provide valued continuity as the company moves into its next chapter.
